OCA Holy Synod of Bishops gathers for special session September 1 - 3
Members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America will gather at the OCA Chancery for a special session Tuesday, September 1 through Thursday, September 3, 2009.
“The members of the Holy Synod felt that, with a number of serious matters requiring attention, it would be best not to wait until our regular Fall Session to meet,” said His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah.
The regular Fall meeting of the Holy Synod will take place in late September, and will overlap with the Fall meeting of the OCA Metropolitan Council to allow for both bodies to meet in joint session.
