San Diego area parishes to highlight Orthodox charities at lenten services

On Sunday evenings during Great Lent, presentations by Orthodox charitable organizations will be featured at Sunday evening Vespers, which will be celebrated at the following churches at 6:00 p.m.

  • March 13: Vespers of the Sunday of Orthodoxy, sponsored by the Eastern Orthodox Clergy Council of San Diego, will be celebrated at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 3459 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff-By-The-Sea, CA. The San Diego Orthodox Choir will sing under the direction of Dr. Vladimir Morosan.
  • March 20: Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4175 Poplar St., San Diego, CA.
  • March 27: Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church, 3025 Denver St., San Diego, CA.
  • April 3: Saint John the Forerunner Chapel, Camp Pendleton. Directions: I-5 to Camp Pendleton exit. Be in right lane to go through the main gate; turn right at first light [Wire Mountain]. Go up the hill to a 4-way stop; turn left. The chapel is in the Blinder Chapel complex on the right side. Be prepared to show your driver’s license and proof of insurance to get on base.
  • April 10: Saint John of Damascus Church [OCA], 16903 Espola Road Poway, CA.
