SCOBA hierarchs designate February 14 as “Mission Sunday”

His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, is among the hierarchs of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas [SCOBA] calling upon the faithful to support the Orthodox Christian Mission Center [OCMC] on February 14, 2010, which has been designated as “Mission Sunday.”

In conjunction with “Mission Sunday,” the SCOBA hierarchs released a statement, the text of which may be found at www.ocmc.org/resources/view_article.aspx?ArticleId=256, in which they encourage the faithful across North America to offer their prayerful and financial support for OCMC’s ongoing world-wide ministry.

The Orthodox Christian Mission Center is SCOBA’s official international missions agency. Since 1995, OCMC has reached out to over 31 countries worldwide with mission programs, long and short term mission teams, and other resources.

Several OCA clergy and lay persons serve on OCMC’s Board of Directors.
