Funeral services and the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated for Archpriest Aaron Archer, who fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday morning, November 15, 2012, at Holy Transfiguration Church, 35 Sickletown Road, Pearl River, NY on November 18 and 19.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18. The Burial Service for a Priest will begin at 6:00 p.m. His Grace, Bishop Michael will preside at the Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19, at 9:30 a.m.
Born in Decatur, AL on December 23, 1943, Father Aaron was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood by His Eminence, Archbishop Dmitri in May 1995 and June 1996 respectively. After serving as acting rector of Saint George Church, Pharr-McAllen, TX, he was attached to Three Hierarchs Chapel at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood, NY in July 2001, while pursuing theological studies. In July 2002, he was assigned second priest at Holy Trinity Church, Yonkers, NY. He was appointed acting rector of Saint John the Baptist Church, Spring Valley, NY in July 2003. In 2010 he was assigned to Saint Ireney Chapel at Saints Cosmas and Damian Adult Home, Staten Island, NY, where he served until his retirement in January 2012.
Interment will take place at Novo-Diveevo Monastery Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
