Deacon Polycarp William Kroah fell asleep in the Lord on January 10, 2020. He was born on April 19, 1960 and spent most of his life in Southern California having moved permanently to the Tacoma area in August 2019.
On May 28, 1983, he married Darlene [Lynne] at Toluca Lake Trinity Church in Burbank, CA. Deacon Polycarp was Chrismated into the Orthodox Church on December 21, 1996 at St. Andrew Antiochian Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, CA. In 2016, he completed the Late Vocations Program through the Antiochian House of Studies. On July 28, 2018, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel ordained him to the Diaconate at Falling Asleep of the Ever-Virgin Mary Church in Anaheim, CA. Deacon Polycarp was then assigned to St. Anne Church, Pomona, CA on July 28, 2018.
Deacon Polycarp enjoyed reading, wood working, riding his Harley, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Reverend Gary and Carol Kroah; wife, Darlene Kroah; children, Austin Kroah, Kayla (Stephen) Christian, Daniel (Shelby) Kroah, Sean Kroah; grandchildren, Liam, Aiden, Toliver, Lucy, Samson, Emmett, and Astrid; sister, Rebecca (Reverend Michael) Duncan; sister, Carolyn (Robert); and many nieces and God children.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15th, 10:00 AM at The Three Holy Hierarchs Romanian Orthodox Church in Mountlake Terrace, WA. Burial will take place at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, WA.
