On the morning on Thursday, February 28, 2008, Fr. Miroslaw Kulik of Portage, PA, fell asleep in the Lord. He was 46 years old.
Fr. Mirolslaw was born and raised in Poland, where he received his seminary training and was ordained a deacon and a priest. In 1997, he came to the US and was received into the ranks of the clergy of the Orthodox Church in America. He served St. Michael Orthodox Church, Portage, PA, and SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Vintondale, PA. Later he served St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Edwardsville, PA, and the Nativity of St. Mary Orthodox Church in Masontown, PA.
Fr. Miroslaw is survived by his wife Eva and their three children, Andrew, Anna and Barbara.
On Sunday, March 2, 2008, the Rite of the Funeral for a Priest will be served at St. Michael Church, Portage, PA, at 7:00 p.m. On Monday morning, March 3, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church, with interment to follow at Holy Transfiguration Monastery, Elwood City, PA.
