Matushka Barbara A. Frenchek, 69, wife of the late Deacon Basil Frenchek, fell asleep in the Lord on March 23, 2017.
Deacon Basil and Matushka Barbara were faithful worshippers and workers at Saint Paul Cathedral, Dearborn Heights, MI, to which Deacon Basil was attached, and in Cleveland and New York area parishes prior to their relocation to metropolitan Detroit. They knew and were friends of many faithful throughout the Orthodox Church in America.
Matushka Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Basil, who fell asleep in the Lord on January 15, 2015, and her parents, Theodore and Mary Wasylenko. She is survived by her son, William [Kelly] Frenchek; her sister, Diana Bendal; grandchildren Alyson, Madelyn and Katelyn; great grandchildren Lily and Levi; niece, Kristina Olszewski; and two nephews, Daniel [Anne] Olszewski and William Olszewski.
Visitation will begin at Holy Dormition Monastery, Rives Junction, MI on Friday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. with the celebration of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the monastery cemetery.
