Matushka Helen Oleynik, beloved wife of 47 years of the late Deacon Vladimir Oleynik, fell alseep in the Lord on Great and Holy Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
Visitation will be held at Saint Nicholas Cathedral, 3500 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC on Bright Monday, April 21, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at which time a Memorial will be celebrated. Funeral will be celebrated at the cathedral on Bright Tuesday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment. A repast will be held at the cathedral after interment.
Matushka Helen was a member of the US Women’s Army Corps from 1943 to the end of World War II, serving as an intercept radio operator in Petaluma, CA.
Survivors include three sons, Gregory, Nicholas [Kathleen] and David [Veronica], and five grandchildren, Carrie, Danny, Joseph, Margaret and Maximus Oleynik.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, 575 Scarsdale Road, Yonkers, NY 10707.
