Matushka Helen Ziatyk, 81, wife of the late Archpriest Paul Ziatyk, fell asleep in the Lord on July 10, 2022, in Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, PA. She was born in Coplay, PA on August 29, 1940 to the late Walter and Pauline Pelleck Radon.
Matushka Helen was a long time member of Saint John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, New Kensington, PA, where she taught Sunday school for 47 years. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her late husband, babysitting her five grandchildren, singing, shopping, and keeping in touch with friends. She always kept a meticulously clean house and was a two-time cancer survivor featured in Medical News Today. She was also an advocate for homeopathic and natural remedies.
She is survived by her son Mark (fiancé Marla Rae Richards) Ziatyk of New Kensington, daughter Julianne (Lon) Dailey of Tarentum, and five grandchildren Samantha, Jacqueline, Zackary, Malaya and Damien.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Archpriest Paul R. Ziatyk, son Paul Ziatyk, and siblings Stella, John, Andrew, Pauline, Edward, Stanley, Paul, Walter and Angie.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM until time of funeral service at 7:00 PM at the Rusiewicz of Lower Burrell Funeral Home, 3124 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA. Burial will be in the Monastery of the Transfiguration, Ellwood City, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made in Matushka’s name to Homeless Cat Management Team, Inc. 1928 Lithgow Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15214.
