Mrs. Maria Paluch, 84, fell asleep in the Lord at the Wayne Woodland Manor here on Sunday, March 27, 2005.
Mrs. Paluch was the mother of Mr. Martin Paluch, personal aide to His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, and director of communications and public relations for Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, South Canaan, PA, and Mr. John Paluch, director of buildings and grounds at the seminary and adjacent Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery.
Born in Hrabske, Czechoslovakia, Mrs. Paluch came to the United States at the age of 18, settling in the Akron, OH area. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel, in 1984.
Viewing will be held at Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery Church on Thursday evening, March 31. A Memorial will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, followed by funeral services, will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m. in the monastery church. Interment will be in the monastery cemetery.
Mrs. Paluch also is survived by a third son, Mr. William Paluch, of Akron, OH; three daughters, Mrs. Veronica [Terrence] Bilas, Akron, OH; Mrs. Anita [Richard] Ondreyka, Akron, OH; and Mrs. Barbara Harp, Phoenix, AZ. She also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna Baker, Hopedale, OH; and two brothers, Mr. Peter Trudik, Toronto, OH, and Mr. George Trudick, San Diego, CA, and 11 grandchildren.
