Although it normally occurs only in great vespers, there are a few special occasions when the augmented litany is included in daily vespers. At vespers on the same day as a great feast of the Lord, there is an entrance with the censer, followed by a great prokeimenon and then the augmented litany, “Let us say . . .” In this case the three-fold Litany of Fervent Supplication which is normally said at the end of daily vespers, is omitted.
