Re: Fortieth Anniversary of the Priestly Ordination of His Beatitude, Metropolitan HERMAN

By decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops, His Beatitude, Metropolitan HERMAN’s Fortieth Anniversary of Ordination to the Holy Priesthood will be celebrated at South Canaan, Pennsylvania, during the Holy Synod’s Fall Session, October 18-21, 2004, which will be held at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery.

Tuesday, October 19, 2004, has been chosen as the date for this celebration and will include a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy concelebrated by all the members of our Church’s Episcopate. A Banquet in His Beatitude’s honor will take place that evening in nearby Scranton. Tickets for the Banquet are priced at $40.00 per person.

I ask that you mark your calendars now so that as many clergy, monastics, and faithful as possible can join to honor the Primate of our Church on this significant occasion. As an autocephalous Church let us join in honoring His Beatitude and in expressing our grateful recognition of his many years of dedicated service to Christ and the Orthodox Church in America.
