Bishop Irineu’s Mother, Grandmother die on Thanksgiving Day
—Word was received by the OCA Communications Department on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2004, that Mrs. Aurelia Nicola and Mrs. Amalia Fleseriu, the mother and grandmother of His Grace, Bishop Irineu of Dearborn Heights, fell asleep in the Lord in Oiejdea, Alba County, Romania earlier the same day.
Bishop Irineu, Auxiliary to the Romanian Episcopate of the Orthodox Church in America, will travel to Romania for funeral services to be held early during the week of November 28.
In addition to her son, Bishop Irineu, Mrs. Nicola is survived by her husband, Remus, her son Remus and his family, and her daughter, Amalia.
