Bishop Tikhon of Philadelphia speaks on present, future of St. Tikhon’s Seminary on web site
In a video statement posted on the web site of Saint Tikhon’s Seminary on Sunday, August 2, 2009, His Grace, Bishop Tikhon of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania addresses a number of issues involving the seminary’s present and future situation.
“As Rector of the Orthodox Theological Seminary of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk, I would like to address three important points relating to our seminary,” Bishop Tikhon states. “First, I would like to dispel any rumor that Saint Tikhon’s Seminary is closing this fall or at any time in the future.”
Bishop Tikhon goes on to “clarify some confusion surrounding the financial health of Saint Tikhon’s Seminary” and shared his thoughts “about the future of theological education on this continent.”
