Candle Sales to Benefit OCA Missions

Parishes of the Orthodox Church in America purchasing pure beeswax candles from the Saint Zosima Candle Factory, Mahopac, NY will find that they are helping fund the OCA’s ongoing mission efforts in the process.

The factory’s administration recently announced that ten percent of all sales to OCA parishes would be returned to the OCA Chancery for the support of missions.

Saint Zosima Candle Factory was founded to help support Orthodox missionary efforts in America and abroad. Production of high quality, hand made beeswax candles began in 1959. Today, four full-time and three part-time workers carefully craft the finest commercial grade, hand poured 100% pure beeswax into specially imported candle molds, as traditionally done in monasteries. The candles’ wicks are made of lead-free natural material and are specific to beeswax burning. A variety of sizes are available.

Orders can be taken directly on-line using the factory’s web site at www.varietycandles.com or by calling 212/987-0537. Candles are shipped within two days, generally via UPS.

“We are pleased that the factory’s administration has offered to donate ten percent of sales to our parishes for ongoing mission efforts,” says Protopresbyter Robert Kondratick, OCA Chancellor. “We hope many of our communities will consider purchasing candles from Saint Zosima’s, knowing that doing so will help expand the Church’s ongoing mission efforts.”
