Evangelization Director visits Holy Apostles Mission, Mechanicsburgh, PA
On the weekend of February 16 and 17, 2008, Archpriest Eric Tosi, Director the OCA’s Department of Evangelization visited Holy Apostles Mission in Mechanicsburg, PA. Holy Apostles is a second year recipient of the OCA Mission Planting Grant. One of the stipulations of the grant is that once during its tenure a member of the Department of Evangelization visit the mission.
Fr. Eric met with Fr. Timothy Hojnicki, Rector of Holy Apostles, and the Mission Council before Great Vespers on February 16. He encouraged them in their good work and challenged them to meet the future goals they have set a mission parish.
Fr. Eric served the Divine Liturgy with Fr. Timothy on Sunday morning with 84 people present, and delivered the homily. During Fellowship Hour he gave an energetic PowerPoint presentation on the Missionary work of all believers today.
The parish of Holy Apostles Mission is thankful to God for the support of the Orthodox Church in America, and for the opportunity to have Fr. Eric visit and participate in the life of the mission in a very practical and engaging way.
