In Memoriam: Mr. Stephen Beskid
Mr. Stephen Beskid, former circulation librarian at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood, NY, fell asleep in the Lord here on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the age of 88.
A member of Saint John the Baptist Church, Warren, OH, Stephen graduated from Saint Vladimir’s Seminary in 1953 and was appointed the circulation librarian in 1964. He served faithfully in that position until his retirement in the mid-1980s. He was known by generations of students for his kind and gentle manner. He was much loved and respected, and always lent a helping hand and offered kind words to his colleagues and seminarians.
A Panikhida will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 27, at 8 p.m. at Sinchak and Sons Funeral Home, Warren, OH. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28 at St. John the Baptist Church, followed by interment at Pineview Cemetery.
A Memorial will be celebrated at the seminary’s Three Hierarchs Chapel on Wednesday, October 28, after the 5:00 p.m. Vespers.
