Inter-Orthodox youth worker conferences to focus on “Living the Beatitudes”

Two conferences for Orthodox Christian youth workers and youth group advisors in November 2004 will explore the theme “Living the Beatitudes.”

The Rev. Michael Anderson, Director of the Orthodox Church in America’s Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry, will be the keynote speaker at the west coast conference at Camp Angelos, Corbett, OR, November 5-7. Other speakers include the Revs. Chris Flesoras, Gary Kyriakou, Joseph Purpura, and Kevin Scherer; Deacon Constantine Lazarkis; and Natalie Kapeluck.

Located at 32149 SE Stevens Road, Corbett, OR 97019, Camp Angelos is just six miles from Portland’s airport.

The east coast conference, which opens with pre-conference meetings on November 11, will be held November 12-14 at Antiochian Village Heritage and Learning Center, Bolivar, PA. In addition to the keynote speaker, the Rev. Joseph Purpura, Youth Director of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, speakers will include Father Anderson; the Revs. John Haluszczak, Mark Leondis, and Anthony Yazge; Deacon Paul Zaharas; Vase-Leigh Andrieotis; and Natalie Kapeluck.

In addition to the OCA and AOCA, the youth departments of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA are
cosponsoring the event.

Registration fees for both conferences, which include room and meals, is $199.00 per person.
