Meeting of Special Investigating Committee, Feb. 28 - Mar. 1, 2008
The sixth meeting of the Special Investigative Committee was held February 28 through March 1, 2008 in Syosset, NY. The Committee has held three meetings in person and three via conference call.
Five items were entered as exhibits and nine interviews were conducted, bringing the interview total to date to 18. Four additional three-day sessions have been scheduled into June, with as many as 19 interviews to take place, some of them follow-ups to earlier interviews. A structure has been established for the final report of the Committee, with every effort being made for completion as early as this summer. Additional information will be included in the April quarterly report to the Metropolitan Council and Holy Synod.
Chaired by His Grace, Bishop Benjamin of San Francisco, Committee members include Archpriest John Tkachuk, Archpriest Philip Reese, Dr. Faith Skordinski, and Dr. Dmitri Solodow. Julia Azrael serves as legal counsel and Bernard Wilson serves as investigative consultant.
