Metropolitan Council ad hoc Legal Committee meets with Central Administration and retained legal counsel to discuss Kondratick lawsuit

At the request of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, the OCA’s Metropolitan Council held a teleconference on Saturday, January 12, 2008, to discuss the lawsuit filed against the Church by Elizabeth Kondratick, wife of former Chancellor, Robert S Kondratick. At this time, an ad hoc legal committee was formed by the Metropolitan Council to work on the lawsuit with the Church’s Central Administration and retained legal counsel until the Spring 2008 meeting of the Council.

The ad hoc Metropolitan Council Legal Committee met with administration and attorneys at the Chancery on Friday, January 18, 2008. A wide range of possible actions was discussed. It was also reported that Ms. Kondratick’s attorneys had agreed to a continuance until February 23, 2008. During the meeting it was stressed that legal expenses must be kept to a minimum, while at the same time exercising due diligence in pursuing a proper case.

Metropolitan Herman has been fully informed about these proceedings.

Another meeting is scheduled for mid-February.
