Metropolitan Theodosius, Archbishop Herman to Participate in Installation of New Japanese Primate

His Beatitude, Metropolitan THEODOSIUS, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, and His Eminence, Archbishop HERMAN of Philadelphia, Vice-Chairman of the OCA Department of External Affairs, will join His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY II of Moscow at the installation of His Grace, Bishop DANIEL [Nusiro] of Kyoto as Primate of the Autonomous Orthodox Church of Japan.

Bishop DANIEL was elected to the Metropolitan See at an extraordinary Local Council of the Japanese Church on May 6, 2000. The Rite of Installation will take place on May 14 at Holy Resurrection Cathedral, Tokyo.

Accompanying Metropolitan THEODOSIUS and Archbishop HERMAN are the Very Rev. John Udics, rector of Holy Assumption Church, Philadelphia, PA, who ministered in Japan for many years, and Mr Jason Vansuch of the OCA Chancery staff.
