OCA 2008 External Audit discussed at recent meeting

SYOSSET, NY [OCA Communications] — On Friday, August 28, 2009, staff members of the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America, including the Rev. Michael Tassos, Acting Treasurer; the Very Rev. Dennis Swencki, Controller; the Very Rev. Alexander Garklavs, Chancellor; and the Very Rev. Eric Tosi, Secretary, met with Mr. Rob Taylor and Mrs. Valerie Jones of the accounting firm Lambrides, Lamos, Taylor, LLP to discuss the progress on the external audit for the year 2008.

Mr. Taylor informed the staff that he hoped to have a draft of the audit report completed by mid to late September.

The external auditing firm of Lambrides, Lamos, Taylor, LLP was chosen to be the auditors for the year 2008 because of their history with the Orthodox Church in America and to help resolve some of the issues pertaining to the handling of investments in prior years.
