OCA Chancery employment opportunity: Comptroller

The Orthodox Church in America is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Comptroller.

Salary and benefits are Level 11 according to the Reorganization Task Force matrix approved in December 2006 by the OCA Metropolitan Council. They are commensurate with pay and benefits in the Long Island, NY, area.

Working under the direct supervision of the OCA Treasurer, the Comptroller will oversee the daily financial activities of the OCA, supervising the work of the financial office, including financial and accounting system controls and standards, and implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to ensure protection of financial assets and reliability of financial reports and statements.

The qualified candidate will possess: a well-rounded knowledge of financial and business accounting practices, methodology and procedures including requirements of governmental regulatory agencies; knowledge of best financial practices for non-profit organization; CPA certification or demonstrated equivalent in education and experience is desirable. Additionally, a thorough understanding of the culture of the Orthodox Church in America is essential.
