OCA departments, SCOBA organizations to offer presentations at All-American Council

The Preconciliar Commission of the 15th All-American Council is pleased to announce the list of workshop and forums. Though originally not scheduled, many of the departments of the Church asked for an opportunity to meet to discuss topics of interest while in Pittsburgh. Due to limited space and scheduling, only a few of the workshops and forums could be offered.

On Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 PM the following workshops will be offered:

  1. The Departments of Christian Service and Institutional Chaplains will be discussing visitation ministry and other initiatives for institutional chaplains in Grand Ballrooms 3 and 4
  2. The Department of History and Archives will be offering a workshop on establishing a parish archive in Traders Room.
  3. SCOBA’s Orthodox Fellowship of the Transfiguration will be offering a workshop in ecology in Sterling 3 room.
  4. SCOBA’s Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) will be offering an informational session on overseas missions in Sterling 2 room

All of these groups will have booths and displays during the Council.

On Tuesday, there will be a series of luncheon forums from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM. Bag lunches will be available for people to attend these forums. You should sign up for a forum at registration so plans can be made for lunches. The forums that will be offered will be:

  1. The Department of of Christian Service and Humanitarian Aid will be offering a forum on prison ministry in the Stanwix room.
  2. The Department of Christian Education will be offering a luncheon forum on intitaives for educating our youth in the Grand Ballroom 3.
  3. The Department of Evangelization will be offering a reflection on missions and mission establishment in the Grand Ballroom 4.
  4. The Department of Christian Service and Humanitarian Aid will be offering a forum on parishioners with disabilities in the Traders Room
  5. The Pension Board will be offering a forum on the OCA Pension Plan in the Kings Terrace.
  6. The Department of Military Chaplains will be offering a gathering of chaplains and interested people in the Sterling 1 room.

Again all of these groups will have booths at the Council for further information.

In addition, presentations will be given by IOCC, OCMC, Pension Board and the Orthodox Health Plans during the Plenary sessions.
