OCA reorganization task force proceeding on schedule

SYOSSET, NY [OCA Communications] — Bob Kornafel, chairman of the OCA reorganization task force, announced that a good number of quality candidates for the five Orthodox Church in America leadership positions—chancellor, treasurer, secretary, comptroller, and director of ministries and communications—have been submitted in accordance with the established recruiting timeline.

In the coming weeks, the selection team members will evaluate candidates, conduct interviews, and identify those highly qualified for recommendation through the Metropolitan Council to the Holy Synod of Bishops and His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman.

Four groups of selection team members will prepare their recommendations for presentation to the Metropolitan Council and the Holy Synod at their March 2007 meeting.

Preparing recommendations for the position of chancellor are the Very Revs. David Vernak and Alex Vinogradov and the Rev. Paul Monkowski.

The Very Rev. Matthew Tate, Protodeacon Peter Danilchick, and Mary Caetta will prepare recommendations for the positions of treasurer and comptroller, while Deacon John Zarras, Gregory Nescott, and Eleana Silk will prepare recommendations for the position of secretary.

Preparing recommendations for the position of director of ministries and communications are Peter Bohlender, Michelle Jannakos, and Al Wetmore.
