Office of Primate to conduct investigation
At the request of His Grace, Bishop Nikolai of Sitka, Anchorage, and Alaska, and with the concurrence of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, the office of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America will conduct an investigation concerning allegations raised against Archimandrite Isidore [Brittain] by Mr. Paul Sidebottom.
The allegations were brought to the attention of the members of the Holy Synod of Bishops at their special session of July 31-August 1, 2007.
The request from Bishop Nikolai was received on Tuesday, August 14, 2007.
The investigation will be conducted in accordance with the Statute of the Orthodox Church in America; the Policies, Standards, and Procedures of the Orthodox Church in America on Sexual Misconduct; and the Conflict of Interest portion of Best Practices.
