On-Line Donations to FOS, Annual Appeals Accepted By Orthodox Church in America

Beginning September 1, 2001, donations to the Orthodox Church in America may be made on-line through the Church’s web site at http://www.oca.org, according to the Very Rev. Joseph Fester, OCA Development Director.

“Our decision to accept on-line donations was made in response to hundreds of requests and suggestions from faithful throughout the country,” Father Fester explains. “Contributions to the Fellowship of Orthodox Stewards and the OCA’s Mission, Seminary and Charity Appeals may be made securely using American Express, Visa, and Mastercard.”

Security is a prime concern for the OCA Office of Development, which has finalized all arrangements for accepting on-line donations.

“The contributions are accepted through the Verisign Secure Site system,” Father Fester adds. “This same secure system is used by thousands of on-line merchants and not-for-profit organizations to accept payment and contributions. For added security, on-line donations will then be processed through the secure systems of JPMorgan-Chase Bank.”
