Patriarch Aleksy of Moscow greets Metropolitan Herman on occasion of his patronal feast day

In a letter dated August 6, 2008, His Holiness, Patriarch Aleksy of Moscow and All Russia sent greetings to His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, greeting him on the celebration of his patronal feast day, the Glorification of St. Herman of Alaska, which is on August 9.

“On behalf of the Holy Synod and the plentitude of the Russian Orthodox Church kindly accept cordial greetings on the day of St. Herman of Alaska, your heavenly patron,” Patriarch Aleksy wrote. “We share with your God-saved flock the joy of today and offer up an ardent prayer so that the Lord may continue giving you His all-powerful help in your difficult primatial ministry. May the Chief Pastor Christ bless your labor for the glory of Holy Orthodoxy.”

His Beatitude also received letters of greeting from His Beatitude, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine, and His Eminence, Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department of External Relations.
