Pittsburgh Lecture Series Explores Conversion

A four-part lecture series titled “Journeys Home: The Road Converts Travel to Orthodoxy,” will be presented by the Orthodox Church in America’s Diocese of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania at Holy Assumption Church, 105 South 19 Street here, on Thursday evenings during October.

The series will bring into focus the deep journey of faith of several converts to the Orthodox faith and the struggles they encountered along the way.

The schedule of speakers and topics includes the Rev. Basil Carpenter [“Roads Traveled: Saints Journies Home”] on October 9; Subdeacon Joseph Lucas [“From the Crescent to the Cross: A Convert’s Journey from Islam”] on October 16; the Rev. Gregory Lewis [“From Anglicanism to Orthodoxy: One Priest’s Journey Home”] on October 23; and the Very Rev. John Maxwell [“From Baptist to Orthodoxy: The Journey of an Orthodox Priest and Theologian”] on October 30.

Weekly presentations will begin at 7:30 p.m. The registration fee for the series is $15.00.
