St. Tikhon’s Seminary hosts Orthodox Inter-Seminary Movement gathering

OISM at St Tikhon's SeminaryOn the weekend of February 29 to March 2, 2008, St. Tikhon’s Seminary hosted the Spring Orthodox Inter-Seminary Movement (OSIM) gathering. The weekend began with Vespers and Matins for Soul Saturday on Friday evening. After the service, the seminarians gathered in the seminary refectory for an evening potluck and welcome from the Dean of St. Tikhon’s Seminary, Father Michael Dahulich.

On Saturday morning His Grace, Bishop Tikhon served the Divine Liturgy and gave his welcoming remarks to the seminarians after breakfast. The main presentation was given by Dr. Christopher Veniamin, Professor of Patristics at St. Tikhon’s Seminary on the Theology of St. Gregory Palamas. In the afternoon the seminarians gathered for the OISM General Assembly where decisions were made for the future of OISM.

The weekend concluded with Vigil and Divine Liturgy at the Monastery Church on Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.
