AFR live broadcast on Great and Holy Council Sunday evening, May 8
On Sunday evening, May 8, 2016, Ancient Faith Radio will air a special edition of “Faith Encouraged Live” during which Father Barnabas Powell will host Archpriest Dr. Alexander Rentel and Archdeacon John Chryssavgis for a call-in program titled “The Great Council of the Orthodox Church: The Time Has Come.”
The program will air at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
The discussion will focus on the upcoming Council, its significance, and the topics that will (and will not) be addressed. Special emphasis will be given to the most debated topic planned for the Council—the relationship of the Orthodox Church with the wider Christian world. A priest of the Orthodox Church in America, Father Alexander is the Assistant Professor of Canon Law and Byzantine Studies and the John and Paraskeva Skvir Lecturer in Practical Theology at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Yonkers, NY. Father John is the Archdeacon of the Ecumenical Throne of His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and a well-known author and theologian.
