First Joint Liturgy between OCA, ROCOR Primates to be celebrated at NYC’s Synodal Cathedral December 10

For the first time, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, and His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, will concelebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign, New York, NY, on Saturday, December 10, 2011.

The celebration marks the Feast of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God.

His Eminence, Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk, also will concelebrate, together with His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield and others. Representatives of the Diocese of Kursk of the Russian Orthodox Church are also expected to take part.

OCA hierarchs who will be concelebrating include His Grace, Bishop Tikhon; His Grace, Bishop Benjamin; His Grace, Bishop Melchisedek; His Grace, Bishop Michael; and His Grace, Bishop Matthias.  Also concelebrating will be Archpriests John Jillions, Eric Tosi, Leonid Kishkovsky, Alexander Garklavs, and Chad Hatfield; Protodeacon Joseph Matusiak; and clergy from the OCA Diocese of New York and New Jersey.
