Metropolitan Council to meet August 27
The Fall Session of the Metropolitan Council of the Orthodox Church in America will meet via video conference, due to the current global health crisis, on Thursday, August 27, 2020. This will be the first of several video conferences in the Fall Session to be scheduled later this fall.
The agenda items for the day include reports from His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, Primate of the Holy Synod of Bishops and Chairman of the Metropolitan Council; Mr. Andrew Smith, Treasurer; the Property Committee, regarding engaging a realtor to sell the Syosset, NY property; and Deacon Peter Ilchuk, on the pending status of the 20th All-American Council scheduled for July 2021 in light of the ongoing pandemic.
The Metropolitan Council is the permanent executive body of the Orthodox Church in America comprised of officers of the Church and clergy and lay representatives of the Church’s dioceses.
