Metropolitan Jonah addresses the Church on the first day of Great Lent 2012
In an archpastoral letter issued to coincide with the first day of Great Lent — February 27, 2012 — His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, challenges every member of the Church to “make a commitment to follow Christ to Jerusalem.
“We have lost the memory of Paradise,” writes Metropolitan Jonah. “We have forgotten the spiritual Jerusalem; we have made for ourselves a comfortable home in this foreign land. So how then can we make a commitment to follow Christ to Jerusalem? What will motivate us to continue walking along the hard and narrow path to our true home?”
