Metropolitan Jonah’s Holy Week, Pascha schedule announced

The schedule of services at which His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah will preside was recently released.

On Sunday, April 8, 2012, the Great Feast of the Entrance of Our Lord into Jerusalem, Metropolitan Jonah will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, D.C. That evening, he will celebrate Bridegroom Matins for Great and Holy Monday at Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery, South Canaan, PA.

On Great and Holy Monday, April 9, he will preside at the preparatory rites for the consecration of Holy Chrism, followed by the celebration of the Hours and the Liturgy of the Presanctified Great, in the monastery church. In the evening, he will celebrate Bridegroom Matins for Great and Holy Tuesday.

Metropolitan Jonah will celebrate the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts and, that evening, Bridegroom Matins, at Saint Sergius of Radonezh Chapel at the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America, Syosset, NY, on Great and Holy Tuesday, April 10.

On Great and Holy Wednesday, April 11, he will celebrate the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts and Bridegroom Matins at Three Hierarchs Chapel, Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood, NY.

He will celebrate the Vesperal Liturgy with the completion and consecration of Holy Chrism at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery on the morning of Great and Holy Thursday, April 12. That evening, he will preside at the Matins of Great, Holy and Good Friday at Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Washington, DC.

Metropolitan Jonah will preside at the services of Great, Holy and Good Friday and Great and Holy Saturday, April 13 and 14, at Saint Nicholas Cathedral, where he also will preside at Paschal Services on Sunday, April 15.
