Metropolitan Tikhon meets with Metropolitan Hilarion [Alfeyev]
His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, met privately with His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion [Alfeyev] of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, during the latter’s visit to Saint Vladimir’s Seminary here on November 8, 2014. With the blessing of His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Hilarion visited the seminary to deliver a lecture and receive an honorary Doctorate of Divinity. They were joined in their discussion by His Grace, Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Russian Orthodox Church’s parishes in the USA, and Archpriest John Jillions, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America.
The hierarchs discussed problems involved in the inter-Orthodox relations and bilateral cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America.
