Mt. Sinai librarian to speak at St. Tikhon’s Monastery November 21
The Great Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple will be celebrated with Hours and Divine Liturgy at 8:40 a.m. in the Monastery Church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk here on Friday, November 21, 2014.
At 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, Archimandrite Justin Sinaites, Librarian at the Monastery of Saint Catherine at Mount Sinai on the Sinai Peninsula, will deliver a lecture titled “The Tabernacle in the Wilderness: Sinai as Past and Future Hope” in the monastery museum. An American convert to Orthodox Christianity, Father Justin is digitally converting the 3,300 manuscripts and 8,000 early printed books in the monastery collection for wider benefit to the Church.
The lecture, as well as the festal services, are open to the public.
