OCA Pension Board concludes quarterly meeting

Members of the Orthodox Church in America’s Pension Board held their quarterly meeting at the Chancery here on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.

The board welcomed His Grace, Bishop David of Sitka and Alaska, as its newly appointed Episcopal Moderator and confirmed Priest Gleb McFatter as its Chairman.  They received actuarial and investment reports, made investment updates and approved benefit payments.  Board members also finalized the “Mission Parish Priest in Retirement Policy,” which allows retired priests to continue receiving their monthly benefits while serving new missions.  More details on this policy can be found here.

The Orthodox Church in America Pension Plan serves over 330 active participants and more than 125 retirees, widows, and beneficiaries.  The Plan is the only approved retirement vehicle for OCA parishes and clergy.  Participation is required of all clergy and parishes.  The Plan is available for all full-time Church workers.  Information and resources concerning the Plan are available here.

In addition to Bishop David and Father Gleb, Pension Board Trustees include Archpriests Matthew Tate and John Zdinak and Theodore Bazil, Matushka Mary Buletza Breton, and Barry Gluntz.
