Preconciliar Commission holds first meeting to plan 20th All-American Council
The first meeting of the Preconciliar Commission, tasked with organizing the 20th All-American Council [AAC] in Baltimore, MD July 26-30, 2021, was held at the Hilton Baltimore, the site of the council, on Monday, September 23, 2019.
His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, chaired the meeting. Participants included Archpriest Alexander Rentel, OCA Chancellor; Archpriest Theodore Boback, Local Committee clergy co-chair; Deacon Peter Ilchuk, Council Manager; Lisa Mikhalevsky, Local Committee lay co-chair; Rebecca Tesar, representing the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America.
According to Deacon Peter, Commission members toured the hotel, reviewed the AAC planning process and the planning timeline. The members reviewed His Beatitude’s proposal for the council schedule, discussed the theme, major agenda items, the youth program and a preliminary overall AAC agenda.
The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America [FOCA] will be holding for the third time its annual convention in conjunction with the AAC. There will be a youth program at the AAC, and plans were considered with regard to the integration of both activities with the operation of the AAC.
