September installment of OCA’s young adult “Wonder Blog” now available

“Icon, Image, and Modern Culture” is the theme of the September 2011 installment of the Orthodox Church in America’s young adult blog, “Wonder,” now available at www.ocawonder.com.

This issue focuses on the image of God around us and in us.  Articles include “Iconography and Pornography; Two Competing Worldviews” by Deacon Evan Freeman; “The Holy Face” by Archpriest Andrew Tregubov, a republished reflection on the story of the first icon; “Accidental Iconoclasm” by Priest John Hopko, which focuses on our need to plaster everything with icons; and “In Memory of Her: The Woman as a Meaningful Pursuit” by Ms. Andreea Balan, who reflects on the image of women in modern culture.

“Wonder,” an on-line publication of the OCA’s Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry, provides thought-provoking articles geared toward young adults and college students and those who minister to them.

The October issue of “Wonder” will focus on “Christians in the Workplace.”  Submissions are always welcome.  Deadline for submissions is October 5.

Readers are invited to submit articles, creative writing and artwork, poetry, photos, and videos for future installments.  Suggested topics are always welcome.  Send all materials and comments to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
