St. Tikhon’s Seminary to hold its fourth annual Alumni Retreat August 29-30
Archpriest John Parker, Dean of Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary [STOTS] and Priest Samuel Davis will lead the fourth annual Alumni Retreat on the seminary campus Thursday and Friday, August 29-30, 2019.
The gathering offers STOTS graduates an opportunity to attend seminars, interact with alumni and current seminarians, participate in the liturgical cycle, and earn five Continuing Education credits. The Alumni Association’s annual meeting and routine elections will be held in conjunction with the retreat.
Father Samuel will offer two presentations entitled “Fr Raphael Morgan: The American witness of Orthodoxy and The Black American Experience” and “The
Black American Experience and the Orthodox Church.” Both presentations will focus on improving how to employ and sustain evangelistic efforts.
“What better way for us to boost our spiritual lives and bring it back to our parishes and places of ministry than to bring ourselves back to where it all began for us,” said Priest Patrick Burns, Alumni Association President.
Join us for the 4th Annual Alumni and Seminarian Joint Retreat. Alumni within a 3 hour drive are encouraged to attend in person, and those who live further away may sign up to watch the seminars and participate in the annual meeting online. There is no cost for alumni to register, but donations are appreciated.
