SVS Chorale December 3 concert to honor memory of Saint Tikhon
On Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., the Saint Vladimir’s Seminary Chorale will present a concert, “Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs.” The musical performance will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the election and enthronement of Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow.
The program, which will take place in Three Hierarchs Chapel on the seminary campus, will include music of the Orthodox Christian Church, selected from the daily and festal liturgical cycles.
The mixed chorale, led by Robin Freeman, Director of Music at the seminary, will be performing selections taken from their forthcoming CD, “Every Day Will I Bless Thee” [SVS Press], as well as some traditional hymns. [Listen to the “Hymn to the Theotokos” from the upcoming CD.] The chorale previously performed this same concert in October at Holy Trinity Church, Danbury, CT, to a sold-out audience.
“We are thrilled to have another chance to perform this program, this time in the very heart of our campus,” said Director Freeman. “It will be a joyful evening!”
Tickets may be ordered on-line at $15.00 adults ($20.00 at the door); $10.00 seniors ($15.00 at the door); free for children and young adults up to age 18. Seating is limited. For additional information, please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
