Vigil celebrated at DC cathedral on eve of Metropolitan Tikhon’s Enthronement
His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, presided at the Saturday evening Vigil at Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Washington, DC, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, the eve of his Enthronement as Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
Members of the Holy Synod of Bishops, many clergy, and numerous faithful also attended the service and received Metropolitan Tikhon’s blessing.
On Sunday morning, January 27, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the cathedral, during which Metropolitan Tikhon will be enthroned. Guest hierarchs and clergy representing sister Orthodox Churches will concelebrate with Metropolitan Tikhon and members of the Holy Synod.
