St. Raphael of Brooklyn Mission is located at the Corner of 18th street and Vermont St.
From I-172(northbound)
Take Exit 14 (Broadway) and turn left/west. Continue straight/west on Broadway to 16th street and turn left/south. Go left/east on Vermont St and it is the last building on the right before the traffic lights.
From US 24 (eastbound from Missouri)
After crossing the Mississippi River bridge US24 becomes Maine Street. Continue straight/east until 12th Street and turn left/north. Continue straight and turn right/east Vermont Street and the building is the last building on the right before 18th street.

Parish Background
In the late 90’s Archbishop Job blessed local Orthodox in Quincy to begin saying Reader Services. Under the sponsorship of St. Joseph’s Orthodox Church (Wheaton, IL) the mission station met in various locations and was served by various priests until 2004, when Archbishop Job granted the growing Quincy community mission status under the patronage of the then recently glorified St. Raphael of Brooklyn.
In 2005 Fr. Thaddeus Nielsen was assigned to the Mission and served there until his retirement in 2013. Under Fr. Thaddeus the Mission soon settled in a storefront location and continued to grow. Upon Fr. Thaddeus’ retirement the Mission returned to Reader Services and occasional (sometimes frequent) visits by area clergy for Holy Week services, Liturgy, and other Sacraments. After being displaced from its storefront location in 2016, the Mission continued to meet at Quincy University for nearly two years. In 2017 Fr. Basil Ferguson was assigned to the Mission, and in 2018 a new storefront was adequately prepared to move into and settle again. In 2019 Fr. Basil Ferguson was reassigned to St. Thomas Parish in Springfield, MO, and afterward the parish has had the fortune of having Fr. John Pawelchak and Fr. Germogen Tucker serve the Divine Liturgy 3 Sundays a month and Reader Services when a priest is not available. June of 2022 saw the mission purchase and move into a new building at 1664 Vermont St., and the Church continues its life and growth in Quincy, Illinois.
