From the North
Take Route 23 south to the Alps Road exit in Wayne. At the end of the exit ramp, go right onto Alps Road. Go 1.3 miles to a traffic light. Make a right onto French Hill Road. Continue down French Hill Road for .2 miles. Holy Resurrection Church is on the right.
From the South
Take the Garden State Parkway north to Exit 153B. Exit onto Route 3 West, this becomes Route 46 West. Continue on Route 46 West to exit marked “Wayne Riverview Drive”. Make a right onto Riverview Drive and stay in the left lane of Riverview. At the 6th traffic light, Riverview Drive becomes French Hill Road. Continue .6 miles on French Hill Road. Holy Resurrection Church is on the left.
From the East
Take Route 80 West to Exit 53. Follow signs for Route 23 North (toward Butler, NJ). Take the “Alps Road” Exit. Go 1.3 miles to a traffic light. Make a right onto French Hill Rd. Continue down French Hill Road .2 miles. Holy Resurrection Church is on the right.
From the West
Take Route 80 East to Exit 53 to Rt 46 east. Continue short distance on Route 46 East to exit marked “Wayne Riverview Drive”. Exit and follow signs for “Wayne Riverview Drive”. Stay in left lane of Riverview Drive. At 6th traffic light, Riverview Drive becomes French Hill Road. Continue .6 miles on French Hill Rd. Holy Resurrection Church is on the left.

Parish Background
On August 23, 1964, following several months of prayer and planning, Fr John Nehrebecki, Dean of the New Jersey Deanery and the members of the fledgling Holy Resurrection community celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the activity room of the Wayne Community Fire House. Later that year Fr Alvian Smirensky was assigned as pastor and services continued in several temporary facilities until the present church building on French Holl Rd was consecrated in 1969.
One year before the completion of the church building, Fr Paul Kucynda was appointed rector of the parish and more than thirty years later he continues to serve as the rector and spiritual father of the parish. Since it was founded, Holy Resurrection has maintained close ties with St Vladimir’s Seminary. Several parishioners have gone there to study theology and a number of those are now serving in the ordained ministry.
From its inception, the parish has sought to maintain a full liturgical life and a dynamic ministry of Christian education for all age groups to nurture the community. Maintaining the vision of its earliest members, Holy Resurrection is seeker sensitive, continues to grow and is home to Christian people both young and old, converts and “cradle-Orthodox”, seeking to live according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
