Parish Background

St Nicholas Orthodox Church is located at 604 Colliers Way, across from the Weirton Medical Center, Weirton.  We have been at our present location since 1975.  Prior to moving to Colliers Way, we were located on Elm St just a block away from the once Junior High in downtown.

We have approximately 90 families whose roots are from Czechoslovakia, Carpatho-Mountain range of Europe, and from the eastern area of Russia.

Our liturgical cycle of services is held in English and consists of:  Vespers on 6:00 PM, Divine Liturgy on Sunday at 9:30 AM with Church School at 10:45 AM, On Holy Days, Vespers on the eve at 6:00 PM and Divine Liturgy on the day at 9:30 AM.

We have a youth group, choir, Ladies Altar Society, Men’s club, and Church School parents group.  We are known in the community for our food festival held in October each year.  We have service community projects in which we aid those less fortunate than we:  St Nicholas Food Cupboard collects and distributes food and other articles to the needy all year long.  We welcome you to our church and pray that God’s Blessing be upon you and that He grants you many years with health and happiness.
