Question
I would be most appreciative if you can recommend any books, pamphlets, etc., on the formation and history of the OCA.
Answer
If you log on to the OCA web site at http://www.oca.org, and follow the link “The Orthodox Church—An Introduction”, you will find the complete text of the book Orthodox Christians in North America 1794-1994 that was written for the Bicentennial of the Orthodox Church in America in 1994. This book will give you the complete history of the OCA’s first 200 years on this continent.
I’m sure you’ll find it interesting.
The actual book has photographs that are not currently available on the web. You can purchase the book from SVS Bookstore, OCPC, and other booksellers for about $15.00.
