Martyr Adauctus and His Daughter of Ephesus

Saint Adauctus was from Ephesus in Asia. When the impious emperor Maximian Galerius (305-311) wished to marry his daughter Callisthene, Saint Adauctus would not give his consent. As a result, Saint Adauctus was deprived of his wealth and position as eparch, and was sent into exile.

He was beheaded at Melitene, Armenia.
