Great Martyr Mercurius of Caesarea, in Cappadocia - Troparion & Kontakion

Troparion — Tone 4

Your holy martyr Mercurius,O Lord, / through his sufferings has received an incorruptible crown from You, our God. / For having Your strength, he laid low his adversaries, / and shattered the powerless boldness of demons. / Through his intercessions, save our souls!

Kontakion — Tone 2

(Podoben: “You sought the heights...”)
O wise one, you were solemnly initiated into divine matters, / O most renowned Mercurius, / and became an acceptable sacrifice when you drank eagerly from the cup of Christ God;1 / and now you pray unceasingly for all of us.

1 Matthew 20:23.

Kontakion — Tone 4

Let us praise and glorify Mercurius, / an invincible warrior in battles, / and a bold protector in calamity with prayerful songs, / for he delivers from misfortune and sorrows, / all those who joyously celebrate his memory.
