Archpriest Cezar Stelian Vasiliu, 78, who in retirement was attached to Saint Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, Montreal, QC, Canada, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Father Cezar, who held a doctoral degree, was well known as a professor who inspired all those who were enriched by his knowledge.
Father Cezar was predeceased by his beloved wife, Preoteasa Zoé Rosa Vasiliu. He will be especially missed and remembered by his daughter Andrea, as well as all whom he mentored through the years.
Visitation will be held at the Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Côte-des-Neiges Road, Montréal, on Wednesday, August 1 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. His Eminence, Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Episcopate, will preside at funeral services, which will be held at Saint Paul Church, 1690 Avenue de l’Église, Montréal, on Thursday, August 2 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
